Energy Renewable Solar

Our society has become energy junkies.  We consume large quantities of energy on a daily basis. Historically speaking, this energy has been generated from non-renewable sources such as petroleum products, natural gas, wood and coal.  Science has shown us that our over use of energy has not only depleted our energy reserves but, has caused global warming as well. Society and science are starting to wise up.  It is time for a change and that change needs to come from renewable forms of energy.

Renewable energy is energy that is created from supplies that are naturally replenished.  Some of the replenish-able power sources are, wind, water and sunlight.  In this century, only about 1 percent of the energy produced comes from solar energy. But winds of change are upon us.  As crude oil prices continue to rise many countries are investment big bucks into the research and production of renewable energy.  Wind energy has developed into a big business.  As a society we need to do the same for solar energy.

Over fifty percent of the renewable energy utilized in the U.S. today is used to make electricity. When these renewable sources of energy are applied correctly, the need to use fossil fuels is decreased. Renewable sources of energy is a go green choice that will assist is saving Earth’s resources. History has shown us that we have not relied on renewable power for many reasons. The principal reason is the cost of the renewable options. Photovoltaic technology, used in building solar panels, has been very expensive.  On the bright side; as technology has advanced, the costs have gone down.  As this science becomes more economical, solar energy becomes more cost effective and more widely recognized and used. Renewable energy resources, such as wind and solar energy, have also not been dependable in the past. Over cast days have caused solar production to cease and no so blustery days have caused wind turbines to stop.

As the price for gasoline remains high; naturally the price of almost everything else rises as well.  It is the need for energy and the need to be energy independent  that has pushed us in the direction of  solar power. The government has enacted law to entice the average family into using renewable forms of energy.  Rebates and incentives have been offered for people who are willing to make the country more energy independent.

Solar energy is the most versatile  power source in the world. Passive solar structures are being designed to make the most of the rays of the sun to heat buildings efficiently. Solar air conditioning is available, as is solar heat. Solar energy many times is used in streetlights and in railroad signals.

Investing in renewable energy sources is a healthy step for the planet.  Not to mention your wallet. There are ways to build solar energy systems that don’t require an colossal cash output. These solar systems can noticeably decrease, or in some cases completely end, your dependence on traditional forms of energy production. As we focus on the future and our energy production and consumption, renewable solar energy will begin to be a force in energy production.
